Holy Trinity Church 1970
Holy Trinity celebrated 125 years in 1970 at which time it organised a fund to rennovate the organ, which was in fact older than the church.
A further reference to the organ is found in the Church Militant page 6 of The Voice 29th Jan 1970.
CHURCH ORGAN: Writing in the Parish of Ystalyfera News Letter, the Vicar, the Rev A. G. Lewis, reports that the organ at Holy Trinity Church, has been re-conditioned and is now as good as new. “An excellent job has been done on it at a cost of £500 in restoring it to its former glory. It is a Walker organ, built in 1726 and they are rare specimens. We are very proud of it at Holy Trinity, so proud that we have nearly collected the money thanks to the untiring efforts of Mr. Aaron Bevan.”
Holy Trinity Church celebrated its 125th anniversary on 27th May 1970 and at that time the Church stood as the only Welsh Church in the Swansea Valley, indeed, in the whole Diocese of Swansea and Brecon, (a unique record.)
