From the Labour Voice newspaper, 26th May 1917 :-
News has been received that Private Tom Jones Ystalyfera, has been killed in action in the East. He leaves a widow and one child, who reside at Canal Terrace. No further particulars have yet arrived as to where Private Jones fell. Much sympathy is felt with his family.
