This month YEARGROUP wishes to thank Donna Colwill for kindly sending us a photograph of St James Church Godre'rgraig. I have always wondered where the chapel had been located and I was under the misunderstanding that it had been demolished. However Donna told me that her mother converted the church in 1978 into a house and it remained in the family for the next 43 years.
Many of our places of worship have become unsafe and have therefore completely disappeared making me contemplate just what the generation which, through toil sweat and tears managed to collect donations and on many occasions erect the buildings themselves would think of not only the destruction of their work but the lack of worship within their beloved village.
